Coming soon… FUSION – Where music, technology, and the artist intersect (a podcast)
Stay tuned….4….details.

Ok…following up from the last post on this subject, the track we recorded here actually had enough content to be approved by the head of the music department at my church, so it will eventually be taught to the mass choir for Resurrection Sunday. That’s cool in that I now got to see the work gone into producing something of at least decent quality for a scenario such as this. Next steps will exercise more of a serious set of mix and production skills in that we’ll have to turn a four-voice quartet into sounding like a mass choir via duplicating the vocal tracks, recording some alto and tenor sax parts, and to give it a more live feel, importing some hand clap samples, the best vocal clips I can lift from our sermon DVDs of the pastor’s wife introducing the choir, and lastly some crowd applause for the end. In a way, this’ll be fun to do, but will feel more like work ;-).
As for my me and my partner’s CD project, “What Love Is”, we still have some work to do for two more tracks, mix them, then send the project out for mastering and duplication. Lately we’ve been learning the business side of things that will necessary not just for distribution of the CD, but for our new record company, Hall Effect Records. We’re in the midst of completing the business plan to reflect the next two years of activity with us as the sole artist on it … again…work!
On a different creative note, I got a call yesterday from a friend and talented sax player, Harron Evoria, who asked me to lay some guitar tracks on her second upcoming CD. That should cool and, if it jumps off, will be the 4th CD I’ve done as a session guitarist, a dream I had as a teen that has finally come true.
Now……if I can work in the time to get my solo project started….hmmm 😉 Makin’ moves to change some daily habits to realize more time to complete this thing I am passionate about.
Stay tuned for some various clips from everything I’ll have and had cookin’ up in The ‘Lab… If you are interested in here some of the tracks I’ve written, check out the links for my music production pages. Thanks for the read.
peace….

I’d like to truly welcome all of you back to the Sunday Soundtrack. Thanks for the patience and comments left in the absence and transfer from my old (crappy) domain host to my new spiffy one…it’s definitely appreciated (you, my listeners and Dreamhost, my new host)! I hope all are enjoying the weekend thus far and getting into the holiday season.
As mentioned before, I am rebuilding the site as best as I can, and will adding new podcasts weekly. This month is a special one in that it marks the one year anniversary of The Sunday Soundtrack Podcast and with that, I’d like to thank all my listeners over that last year that have supported it. I am planning on adding a few new things for 2009, so please stay tuned!
A question is occassionally posed to me: Where do you find your tracks? I often choose tracks based on what I hear when I am driving, listening to XM Radio’s Channel 84 – Chill, or listening to Groove Salad – an excellent source for the genres presented in this podcast. Groove Salad has a podcast on iTunes via NPR that gives samplings of what they play. Rusty Hodge does a fine job of producing that podcast, complete with info on each artist. I often check out the tons of artists on myspace – a place that I have found to be the best place for the genres I seek. Creative Commons, iodapromonet and the podsafe music network are also places that come recommended. If you know of any not mentioned here, feel free to suggest the links to me.
That being said, without further adieu, this week’s playlist is as follows:
1. Summer Sun – Koop/Waltz For Koop
2. The Flow (Aural Float Remix Edit) – Vargo/Ibiza Chillout Edition
3. Good Morning London – Kaya Project/Elixir
4. City Childhood – Vision
5. Superdope – Jens Buchert/Intersphere
6. Falling Man – Espresso Del Lago/Yeti
7. Bomberclad Joint (Knowtoryous) – Kruder & Dorfmeister/The K&D Sessions
8. Dreaming of You – Chevalier
All the artists, with the exception of Vision and Chevalier, can be found on iTunes
Self correction: I mentioned in the podcast that if I forgot anyone, to charge it to my heart and not my mind….NOT!! Charge it to my MIND and not my HEART! HAHA!
Here’s to a wonderful day, night, and week. Thanks for listening…
peace….
